If you tried to log into your email in the last three days and received an error message that you were locked out of your account, you’re not the only one.
The recent migration from an old UT Tyler Microsoft Outlook format to a newer, more updated format has in fact caused thousands of UT Tyler staff and students to be without their emails for the past several weeks.
However, in the last several days, the system updated to say that Outlook users who were “attached to the old Microsoft environment” were locked out of their account and unable to access or receive emails at all.
This issue is affecting both students and staff alike (even some University officials).
However, IT is aware of the problem and is working tirelessly from 8-9:30 p.m. (most days– full hours posted at the link below) to solve these issues and get users back in the game. Students or faculty having trouble are instructed to find more information at Public – Student (or Patriots) Microsoft Email and Other Application Access (service-now.com) or to join a live Zoom session by clicking the big orange button at this link. Be ready to wait for a while, as according to IT staff over 40,000 people have been affected! Online waits can be around 2 hours.
