The Tyler Film Festival will be held Sept. 7 to 9 at the Liberty Hall Theater in downtown Tyler. Tickets range from $10 to $15 for day passes, or $25 for three-day passes, and are for sale on the Tyler Film Festival website.
The annual festival is a “celebration of storytelling through film in East Texas,” according to the Tyler Film Festival website are accepted. Though films less than 15 minutes are accepted from all over the world, the festival has a “special fondness” for local independent films.
The showcase will begin at 7 p.m. each night of the three-day festival. Thursday’s line-up is dedicated to “Young Filmmakers” under the age of 21. The following night is “Everywhere Else,” which includes films from outside of Texas. The three-day festival ends with Texas Night, or films produced in Texas. The full line-up of films can be found on the City of Tyler website.
Following the Texas Night screening and awards ceremony, a reception will be held at the Plaza Tower atrium, which is also in downtown Tyler.
