Art on Campus: What’s in Meadows Gallery?
By NATHAN WITT/Editor-in-Chief
The Meadows Gallery is featuring the work of UT Tyler faculty now until Thursday, Oct. 13. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Gary Hatcher, one of the featured artists, retired last month. In doing so, he put a cap on his record as the longest-serving faculty member in the art department: 38 years.
The gallery also includes Merrie Wright, the department chair of 16 years, Alexis Serio and Dewane Hughes, a husband-and-wife duo, and Maclovio Cantú IV, a first-year professor.
The Meadows Gallery is located in the UT Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. It is open and free to the public.
