UT Tyler Athletic Department Reveals its 2024 Hall of Fame Class

The University of Texas at Tyler athletic department has announced its 2024 Hall of Fame Class. The induction ceremony will take place at the UT Tyler Alumni House on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 9:30 a.m.

The class consists of Beth Launius (women’s tennis), Lindsey Peters (softball), Whitney Simmons (women’s track and field), Chestley Strother (women’s soccer) and the 2003 men’s soccer team. 

“We are very excited to announce our 2024 Hall of Fame class!” UT Tyler Interim Director of Athletics Chris Bizot said. “These four individuals and this team laid the foundation for UT Tyler Athletics. We are so proud of their accomplishments and can’t wait to honor them this fall!”

The Hall of Fame “honors individuals and teams who have brought distinction to themselves and UT Tyler through their achievement, commitment, sportsmanship, and leadership in athletics,” according to the UT Tyler Patriots website
