Stanley’s Famous Pit Bar B-Q has been family owned and operated since 1958. Nick and Jen Pencis took over the business in 2006 after the death of founder JD Stanley. They kept JD’s recipes and methods alive and added their own flair to the joint. Texas Monthly Magazine named Stanley’s “One of the Best BBQ Joints in the World!” It is located on 525 S. Beckham Ave. in Tyler.

Multimedia journalist Aidan King recently visited Stanley’s during the lunch rush to see what all the excitement is about.
