Bethesda Health Clinic Looking for Volunteers and Patients

The Lindale branch of the Bethesda Health Clinic is now open to the public. Located in “The Journey Center” in Lindale, the clinic is looking for volunteers as well as new patients.

To qualify for care at the clinic, you must be 18 or older, uninsured and have an income. Please see the website for more details about admissions requirements.

If you are pursuing a career in healthcare administration, the opening of this new clinic is a great opportunity for volunteering as an admission screener.

Students are encouraged to apply online as clinical operators or at Hangers of Hope, a Tyler thrift store which helps fund Bethesda Health Clinic. Students can even volunteer as a group; if a sorority, club or other organization wants to come volunteer together, there’s a program called Hands of Hope through which they can make an impact. There is a separate application process for groups volunteering and individuals wanting to volunteer their time, but all information can be found on the Bethesda website. 

There are tons of ways for anyone interested to help back this fantastic charity, which has branches in Lindale and Tyler. Even volunteering as a bilingual assistant is extremely helpful.

“Yesterday, we had a free flu shot clinic with Walgreens.  During that time, volunteer translators helped the patients with their applications and questions. Volunteer opportunities are always changing, so if you have any questions, please reach out to me at ,” said Ann Hoppers, the Volunteer Coordinator for Bethesda.

Even if you don’t have room in your schedule to give your time, there are still ways you can help: Hangers of Hope is also looking for Christmas related donations. Those can be dropped off at either Hangers of Hope location in Tyler (one on Loop 363 and one on Troup highway).

Hangers of Hope, in benefit of Bethesda Health Clinic, will hold their annual “Christmas Extravaganza” on November 17, during which all of their shelves will be full of Christmas products.
