Several East Texas communities were impacted by the severe weather that occurred on Monday night.

“Many faculty, staff, and students were directly impacted,” said an email from the Department of Student Engagement. “As our communities began to recover, we would like to provide support to those that are in need.

Until April 1, the Office of Leadership and Service will serve as a central location and will accept the following donated items:

  • water
  • Gatorade
  • travel-sized toiletries
  • gas cans with gas (to donate/leave)
  • pre-mixed fuel (Tru-Fuel)
  • totes/large tubs/boxes
  • trash bags (drum liners)
  • blankets

Items can be delivered to University Center 3400 anytime from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We will deliver the supplies on behalf of the UT Tyler community,” the email said. “If you are interested in volunteering in person, please contact our office at .  If there is enough interest, we will coordinate a day of service or connect individuals directly with those leading recovery efforts.”
