Green trucks were spotted Friday, Oct. 18, having “CHROMAKOPIA” plastered on them in the general Tyler area. As the rollout for Tyler, the Creator’s new album “CHROMAKOPIA” has officially begun.
CHROMAKOPIA
On Oct. 16, popular American hip hop artist and creative Tyler, The Creator teased his new album with a snippet titled “ST. CHROMA” on YouTube. A day later, he posted a link on Twitter that directed fans to a website with a multitude of information and a release date for the album: Oct. 28. Then on Oct. 21, Tyler dropped the second single “NOID”. This shocked the internet, and the hype began to build around “CHROMAKOPIA.”
The Website
On the punkish-green splattered website, fans can find links for merchandise, album art, a release date and other valuable information. However, what confused users was a mysterious map on the website which was hosted by the “CHROMAKOPIA Trucking Company”. Fans learned the purpose of this map on Oct. 18h. The green trucks were spotted on the map located in Tyler, Texas.
The Response
The Talon was quick to respond to the situation. Many of the staff began tracking the story and following the trucks. The trucks were first spotted in Lindale and then made their way to Tyler. Some trucks were spotted in front of the Tyler Public Library; other trucks were spotted in gas stations. TikTokers, news outlets and a multitude of others began searching and taking photos of the elusive green trucks.
