Ever since David Kaiser and Nick Anthony began coaching UT Tyler’s track and field team six years ago, team members have set a school record at every meet.
“We have broken at least one school record for the past 60 meets,” Head Coach Kaiser said.

“I think the streak of records has been accomplished because of the combination of grit and determination that the athletes have put on display daily and the way that they care about one another,” Assistant Coach Anthony said.
The most records that have ever been broken at a single meet go happened from Jan. 31 to Feb. 1 this year. Eight records were broken over those two days.
Anthony said he believes more records likely be improved at the upcoming Lonestar Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 21and 22 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“I think there’s a chance that eight-plus records could be broken next week at conference,” Anthony said.
