On the evening of December 18th, UT Tyler’s main campus received a bomb threat. The threat was quickly determined to be a false claim. According to a mass email sent out by university assistant chief of police, Bradley Standerfer, “authorities determined that the threat was a hoax and that there was no credible danger to the campus community.”
No lockdown was issued to the main campus. The university has been thoroughly checked with no suspicious activity uncovered, and business at the campus will proceed as usual.
Suspicious activity or concerning information should be reported immediately to the UT Tyler Police Department at 903-566-7300.
