Tyler, TEXAS— UT Tyler’s volleyball team will pack up and head to San Angelo, Texas, this week for the Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship, scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 20 through Saturday, Nov. 22.
UT Tyler will face St. Mary’s (15–12, 12–5 LSC) at 4 p.m. on Thursday. The winner will advance to Friday’s 6:30 p.m. semifinal to meet the winner of Angelo State vs. Texas A&M–Kingsville. Angelo State enters as the tournament’s No. 1 seed and will host the entire event. Lubbock Christian is the No. 2 seed, West Texas A&M is No. 3, Texas Woman’s is No. 6, Oklahoma Christian is No. 7, and Texas A&M–Kingsville rounds out the field at No. 8
How We Got Here
The Patriots closed the regular season with a 16–11 overall record and enter the tournament as the No. 5 seed after finishing 12–5 in conference play. They tied St. Mary’s in the standings, but the Rattlers earned the higher seed and home designation in their first

round matchup thanks to their head-to-head win back on Oct. 28.
UT Tyler carries momentum into postseason play, winning seven of its last 10 matches, including two impressive reverse-sweep comebacks. A reverse sweep is when a team falls behind two sets to none but rallies to win three straight and take the match. Tyler enters the postseason playing some of their best volleyball of the season, as they’ve showed resilience and determination in some tight conference contests.
On the stat sheet, Autumn Perry leads the team in kills with 317 on the season, averaging 3.52 per set. Anna Arceneaux anchors the defense with a team-high 396 digs, averaging 4.83 per set, while Kate Christiansen and Alyson Robbins have been two of the team’s most efficient attackers, each posting a .308 hitting percentage. Saige Rivera runs the offense from the setter position, leading the team with 689 assists, averaging 7.49 per set.
What Does The Tournament Mean
Tenth-year Head Coach Lyndsay Mashe will be looking to guide the Patriots to their first-ever LSC tournament championship, a milestone the program has yet to reach since moving to Division II and joining the conference just four seasons ago.
The tournament champion will claim the LSC title and secure the conference’s automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division II Championship. While winning the tournament guarantees a spot, it doesn’t mean teams who fall short are eliminated from contention. Last season, the Patriots fell in the semifinals of the LSC Tournament but still earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Despite that possibility, every program in the conference is aiming to secure the automatic berth.
The NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship Selection Show is set for Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. CT on NCAA.com. The South Central Regional host site has yet to be announced, and the national quarterfinals, semifinals and championship matches are scheduled for Dec. 11–13 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
