Behind the doors of True Vine Brewing Company was a fantastic concert brought by True Vine themselves. The first band was Clutch Cargo. They had an acoustic set that blew everyone out of the water. The two guitarists complemented each other well. They played a fan favorite called “A Million Miles.” Their setlist also consisted of “Harder,” “Floating Ice,” “Fire,” and a cover of “I Don’t Love You” by My Chemical Romance. Their music is lyric-focused.
My favorite lyric is “if you’re still breathing, just know you are doing okay.”
The next band was Killer Cranes. They immediately brought a lot of energy into the crowd. Their setlist consisted of “Phantom Limb,” “Too Hot,” “Dear,” “Golden Hazel,” “Abram,” “Vapor Trail”, and a cover of “There There” by Radiohead. My personal favorite was “Golden Hazel.” It bears a resemblance to Jeff Buckley’s work. Most of their music sounds like it is from a 1990 alternative rock band.
Last, but not least, Lenny & The D. This was probably my favorite band. Everyone was a well-rounded musician. At one point, the lead singer and the drummer switched out for a song. A lot of their music has silly lyrics but a fun sound. “Pizza Delivery Man” was clearly their favorite song to play.
My personal favorite was “It’s okay to steal from Hobby Lobby.” This is a band I recommend everyone listen to when they need a break from their busy life. I was highly entertained through every song and left wanting their set to be five times longer.
