Discussions overheard and repeated to friends, plans drafted but not yet finalized, whispers whirling through the wind… all tying back to the potential for a new Starbucks location on campus!

“We’re going to have multiple locations throughout our school to have access to the best coffee. And yes, I would like to add (that) we already have other Starbucks, but this will be the biggest one we have on campus, and it just shows how our school is growing and striving to be bigger and better,” said Jamien Rooks, the marketing director of Sodexo.

Ona Toliver, the senior vice president of Student Services, added, “At this point we have not advanced the project.  We are still having discussions with our campus partner Sodexo, and hope that we will have more information in the near future.”

Although details are uncertain, administration was discussing building the alleged Starbucks in the fall semester. Whether the project pans out or not, these steps are a great representation of the willingness of UT Tyler to provide what is necessary for students to thrive and to better help them enjoy their college experience!
